Update on Results
- The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana has reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to ensuring transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and inclusiveness in the electoral process for the December 7, 2024, election.
- According to Jean Mensa EC chairperson, results are collated from pink sheets at polling stations, constituency collation centers, regional centers, and finally, the National Collation Center.
- Considering this, the commission intends to declare the presidential results within 72 hours, although an earlier announcement is possible if the results are available sooner.
- Delays have occurred because supporters of political parties have crowded the collation centers, impeding the officers’ ability to carry out their responsibilities.
- The commission guarantees that it will diligently work to make sure every vote is counted and that the results will accurately reflect the people’s will as expressed through the ballot.
